Over the weekend the boys had the pleasure of staying with family. "Aunt" Debbie is a Chemistry professor at USD and brought the boys (via train and shuttle) to her office on Friday. They then got to do experiments in a real lab. Needless to say, they were in heaven. Just look at their faces!!

Nathan's New Space
I won't bore you with all the details of how we got here, but I will say that Nathan moved into his own bedroom today. As my husband and mother will tell you- if I get a bee in my bonnet, I won't rest till it is out. Now, I will say that I was content to wait till next summer to do the change over, but Dan saw me buzzing and gave me the green light.
Dan and I spent our date night at Ikea on Saturday shopping for new furniture for Nathan's room. It was so much fun picturing Nathan's expression when he saw the bedspread we picked or the blue chair (as you will see below- Nathan's favorite color is BLUE). I have to say, it turned out really nice and the boy loves it.
As much as he loves getting his own space, he wasn't too thrilled when Jason announced that he would be sleeping on Nathan's old bed (top bunk). There were tears and lots of negotiations, but I believe an agreement has been arranged (on weekends Nathan can sleep in his old bed and Jason will go back to the bottom). Nathan will have plenty of time to sleep back in the old bed when visitors stay over. We now have a comfy place for guests and Ryan to sleep when they are here!

Diorama BABY!!
Jason had to choose and animal and make a habitat diorama. Jason chose a lion and had very specific ideas about what the lion should be doing in his habitat. He wanted the lion eating a zebra- he wanted blood and he wanted the lion's mouth open with teeth. We used a shoebox, construction paper and model magic (this stuff is awesome)- viola, you have a lion habitat!! Way to go Jason!!
