Jason:: Star of The Week

Jason was finally chosen to be star of the week!! Most kids do it around their birthdays, but since he is a summer baby- he gets fit in wherever there is room. Needless to say, the kid is so excited to have Reggie the Rally Monkey home for a week, share a poster all about him, bring in a mystery item and have someone read to the class on Friday (he picked me). He has waited all year to have a turn and the smile below was worth the wait!!

Red Velvet....

...or that is what the boys call my new "red" hair. It's more burgundy in the sun, but it is fun none the less!! I decided that I should be fun and sassy when my hair is short- so I added some color. Boy do I look like my mom now!! As Dan said, "now you both have unnaturally RED hair." I love the honesty!! I am having fun with it!!

Seattle Pacific University Reunion

I had the pleasure today of spending time with Jill & Leanne. We went to school together back in 1989 and lived on the same floor- Third Hill.  Jill and her family were visiting Orange County from the Seattle area and Leanne came down from Santa Ynez. I love these ladies and am so glad that we have stayed in touch the last 23 years!!

Mantle complete!

We have lived in our Irvine home for 8 years now and I finally like the mantle area. I had a large mirror that just rested on the brick ledge and it always felt temporary, but it is great now (at least I think so). Mirror from IKEA, sconces from online store, lettering from Target, candles from Kohls. It was a group effort for sure!!

Fun Times with Grandmas!!

The boys went to my mom's for a sleep over, but before heading home they went by the Orange County Museum near Fashion Island. Do you love the funny installation? Note the dog pee running down the side of the building (you can't see this, but his leg is lifted up over the side)- too funny!!

 Saturday they were joined by my mother in law, Mary, and headed out to whale watch. They only saw the tail of one whale, but were given quite the show by hundreds of dolphins frolicking in the water!!

This was definitely a day to remember- thank you Grammy and Grandma Mary!! I don't know what we would do without you two wonderful women!!!

Bieber Fever- Anyone?

Jason had to do a hero project. Who does he pick? Why Justin Bieber of course. I mean Nathan did Thomas Edison and I am sure Justin is right up there with that guy- NOT!!

Anyway, Jason loves JB and that is who he wrote about. The project entailed researching your hero, making a poster with facts on it, writing facts on note cards and presenting your hero in front of the class. We love how the poster turned out and the presentation went well too.

Jason chose Justin as his hero because Justin had a dream to become a singer and his dreams came true. Jason has dreams that he would like to see come true as well- works for me!!

Beach Babes!!

What do you do on a three day weekend? Ship the kids off and head to the beach!! 

My mom "borrowed" the boys today so she could hang out with another Grandmother who had her grandsons. Oh what to do? We headed down to San Clemente- a great walk along the beach and an excellent dinner. I love being with my baby in the town we met and fell in love (and where we got married). San Clemente will always hold a special place in our heart!!

 The kids spent the night, which was great- so we could just hang out, watch movies when we got home, sleep in and relax together!!!
