I have always wanted a different flooring other than carpet underneath where we eat. When our landlord replaced the carpet 2 1/2 years ago we asked for hardwood floor downstairs, but he said it would be too expensive. Being grateful for the new carpet, I didn't push it.
Now that we have a dog who lives in the back half of the house, it is more important than ever to have a surface that is easy to clean up. I approached the landlord suggesting that we pay for half of the cost and he agreed- a win, win for both of us.

I was able to choose the color and style too which is awesome. We went with a distressed, laminate product and the color is called "African Teak". The installers came this afternoon and finished before dinner time. We love our new floor- even if Chloe slides all over the place!

We need a rug near the couch and then the room will be complete. The color of the floor brings such a warmth to the room that it was lacking before! I wish we would have done it years ago, but I am so thankful that it is done now!!
